Overview

The Revenue Cycle Manager – Charge Entry is responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely charge capture processes within the Revenue Cycle department for a growing women’s health-focused organization. This role plays a key part in optimizing revenue capture, ensuring billing compliance, and managing a team of charge entry staff. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of OB/GYN billing and coding, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving accuracy and efficiency in the charge entry process.

 

Preference will be given to applicants with prior MSO and/or OBGYN experience. 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the charge entry team to ensure accurate and timely posting of charges for office and facility-based services across multiple physician practices in various markets.
  • Ensure all CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes are applied correctly based on medical documentation and payer requirements.
  • Collaborate with providers, coders, and billing staff to resolve documentation issues, coding discrepancies, or missing information that may impact charge accuracy.
  • Monitor charge entry workflows, productivity, and performance metrics; identify and address bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
  • Conduct regular audits of charge entry data to ensure compliance with payer guidelines, internal policies, and regulatory standards.
  • Work closely with the coding, billing, and A/R teams to support a clean claim process and minimize denials or rework.
  • Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to staff; assist in recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in OB/GYN coding and billing, staying current on regulatory and payer changes that affect reimbursement, and communicating changes to key stakeholders, including leadership.
  • Generate and analyze reports related to charge capture, productivity, and revenue trends to inform leadership decisions.
  • Actively participate in cross-functional meetings and initiatives to improve overall revenue cycle performance.
  • Travel-Less than 10%; may include air travel for corporate training.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in medical billing/revenue cycle, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Current AAPC CPC or COBGC certification, with demonstrated knowledge of OB/GYN coding, charge entry, and reimbursement practices.
  • Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
  • Proficiency in EHR and practice management systems (athenaOne experience preferred).
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a growing organization.
