Overview

Job Summary:

The Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Administrator leads planning, organization, and execution of all facility operations in alignment with organizational policies and regulatory standards. This role ensures efficient, high‑quality patient care, financial health, and strategic growth, while cultivating strong physician and medical group partnerships

Responsibilities

Operational Leadership:

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure efficient and effective delivery of surgical services.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Delivers on performance commitments and achieves identified volumes to ensure center success.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, and accrediting body regulations.

 

Financial Management:

  • In collaboration with the VP of Operations, develop and manage the annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Monitor financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability.
  • Implement cost-containment strategies without compromising quality of care.

 

Staff Management:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise ASC staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing staff development opportunities.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and high employee morale.

 

Quality and Compliance:

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and patient safety standards.
  • Maintain accreditation status and prepare for regulatory inspections.

 

Strategic Planning and Business Development:

  • In collaboration with the VP of Operations, develop and execute strategic plans to grow service lines and increase market share.
  • Build and maintain relationships with physicians and community stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare management, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center or similar setting.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and healthcare information systems.
  • Familiarity with financial management tools and budgeting processes.
