Overview

The Clinical Lead (CL) is a servant leader that supports the Practice Manager (PM) in meeting the needs of the practice clinical team. Alongside the PM and Human Resources (HR), this leader ensures that Together Women’s Health “TWH” mission and values are upheld within the practice daily. The CL creates a positive, professional, service-oriented work environment by encouraging teamwork, collaboration, and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership – Sets example for other employees by being prompt, dependable, courteous, flexible, adaptable, and supportive of all staff and management team. Is a team player daily in the clinic as well as supporting change as needed and continuously seeking opportunities to improve clinic effectiveness and staff morale.
  • Operations – Responsible for smooth day to day operations including clean and safe environment, adherence to policy and procedure by all staff, timely patient care, properly functioning equipment, adequate amounts of supplies and effective use of resources. Managing clinic staff for start times, end times, and adequate lunch breaks each day.
  • Training – Acts as a preceptor for new employees. Oversees all training completed for clinical employees.  Meets with assigned trainer and new employee to discuss employee progress.  Set goals and benchmarks for skill achievement and recommend an additional pay to HR as achieved by set skills checklist per role.  Leads department head training huddles/meetings as needed.

 

  • Prepares the bi-weekly clinical schedule for all clinic staff inclusive of satellite offices (Homewood, Alabaster, Pell City, ACCUP, and Triage). Manages day-to-day staffing as employee availability to work changes from set determined schedule. Receive and approve any PTO requests from clinic staff, based on clinical schedule needs.
  • Coordinates all inductions and c-sections for the obstetrics patients.
  • Coordinates with HR with for recruiting, hiring, retention, staff training and continuing education, performance development, performance management, and teammate relations (measured by eNPS scores).
  • Support the PM/HR in achieving NPS benchmarks by monitoring Google and Podium reviews; take swift action to resolve patient issues that arise in the practice in partnership with the clinical leadership team.
  • Create, monitor, and optimize provider EMR templates.
  • Physical site maintenance responsibilities including building maintenance issue reporting, inspections and maintaining cleanliness standards that meet healthcare guidelines. Complete the required CLIA with provider assistance for a review three times annually.
  • As needed triage patients for visit with physicians, prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments. Administer and documents in the chart any immunizations or minor treatments, assist physicians with patient examinations, diagnostic tests and/or procedures.
  • Uses a team approach to develop and achieve daily patient-centered individualized care goals.
  • Oversees the triage department, this department is fully self-sufficient and implements telephone triage, patient education, physician-based care calls, pharmacy calls, portal communication with patients, and all task assignments from physicians and care teams through EMR system.
  • Leads the team in cleaning and stocking all patient rooms, oversees medical supplies needed and reports for ordering, cleans and prepares instruments for procedures, orders lab tests, counsels patients concerning lifestyle modifications, medication regimens, side effects, and interactions using an appropriate communication.
  • Coordinates ordering test/procedures with other clinical staff and oversees that all diagnostic tests results are reported to physician.
  • Support PM/HR with channels of communication within the practice such as daily huddles, monthly team member meetings, 1:1 coaching sessions and assisting with townhall sessions.
  • Support PM/HR in executing practice level operational and business plans that support the stability and growth of the practice’s financial performance alongside the Practice Medical Director and in partnership with the field leadership team.
  • Acts in a leadership role in the absence of both PM and HR.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years in women’s healthcare leadership preferred.
  • Clinical background in women’s healthcare highly desired.
  • MS Office Suite; Athena EMR experience, preferred
  • Superior customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop strong and supportive working relationships with a wide variety of people and backgrounds.
  • Experience and confidence in leading a team.
  • Exceptional written and oral presentation skills; ability to present concisely and with detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in communicating key data.
  • Understanding of business functions, ability to read, interpret and act on profit/loss data, understanding of how to create a basic business action plan to impact results.
