Overview

East Lakeland OBGYN Associates, a Partner Practice of Together Women's Health, is seeking a Medical Receptionist/Check-Out role to join their growing team.

 

The Receptionist is a brand ambassador and is responsible for providing a warm welcome to every patient, every time.  This role must provide outstanding customer service to each patient either on the phone or in person. The Medical Receptionist Creates a positive, professional, service-oriented work environment for staff, patients, and family members by supporting the mission and values of both the practice and TWH.

Responsibilities

Patient Interaction:

  • Greets all individuals at Check-Out in a timely, professional, and courteous manner to ensure that their needs are met with their understanding.
  • Collect co-pays and deductibles, at the time of check-out, as directed by the billing policies.
  • Utilizes the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to complete the payment process and facilitate the completion of the patients' visit with their provider or diagnostic technician.
  • Completes the check-out process by assisting the patients with scheduling future appointments & as directed by the providers.

General and Administrative:

  • Ensure Check-out area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures).
  • Takes account calls off voicemail and sends to appropriate Financial Accounts person
  • Maintains cash drawer and balances daily
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in a customer service facing role within an organization that values excellent customer experience and service.
  • 1-year previous medical office experience (preferred).
  • Previous experience handling cash, credit card payments and balancing at end of day
  • Good organizational and time management skills to effectively juggle multiple and competing priorities within a time constrained environment.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work professionally and effectively with various levels of organizational members and diverse populations including staff, patients, family members, vendors, outside customers and couriers.
  • Must know, understand, and comply with HIPAA confidentiality standards when accessing or communicating patient information.
