Overview

Southern Women's Health, a practice partner of Together Women's Health, is seeking a full-time Triage Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their growing team!

 

As an experienced practitioner, the Triage Nurse is responsible for assessing patients, determining the severity of patients conditions, and prioritizing care based on the urgency of symptoms. 

 

 

Must have prior OBGYN experience. 

Responsibilities

  • Performs telephone triage, patient education, handling of physician phone calls, pharmacy calls; may assist by calling to set up appointments or arrange hospital tests or admissions
  • Completes paperwork such as refilling medication, ordering lab tests, x-rays, etc.
  • Assessing patients and determining priority and referring for emergency care
  • Counsels’ patients concerning lifestyle modifications, medication regimens, side effects, and interactions using an appropriate psychosocial communication level
  • Communicates to patients and office coordinators follow-up appointments, ancillary and/or pre-operative testing and scheduling needed for patient
  • Coordinates ordering of tests/procedures with other clinical staff
  • Respond to patient questions and concerns as liaison between physician and patient
  • Assists with instrument sterilization and sterile room organization
  • Assists with reporting test results to the patient as directed by the physician
  • Assists with inventory of supplies 
  • Assists with restocking of all exam room rooms when needed
  • Assists with other clinical positions as needed

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required
  • State of Mississippi LPN License required
  • BLS certification required
  • At least one year of working experience as an LPN required
  • Athena EMR experience highly preferred 
  • OB/GYN experience required
