Overview

Somerset Gynecology & Obstetrics, a practice partner of Together Women's Health, is seeking a full time Registered Nurse (RN) to join their growing team!

 

We’re looking for an experienced Registered Nurse who is passionate about providing high-quality, individualized care to patients and their families. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with physicians and a multidisciplinary care team to ensure exceptional patient outcomes while offering both physical and emotional support to those we serve. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment, demonstrates strong critical thinking and multitasking skills, and can work both independently and as part of a supportive team.

Responsibilities

 

  • Uses a team approach to develop and achieve daily patient-centered individualized care goals.
  • Acknowledges and values the contributions of the patients’ significant others as an integral part of the plan of care
  • Performs telephone triage, patient education, handling of physician phone calls, pharmacy calls; may assist by calling to set up appointments or arrange hospital tests or admissions
  • Administers intramuscular injections and minor treatments as prescribed; records and documents all such activities in the chart
  • Assists physician with patient examinations, diagnostic tests and/or procedures when needed.
  • Completes paperwork such as ordering lab tests, imaging, school/work notes, FMLA, etc.
  • Counsels’ patients concerning lifestyle modifications, medication regimens, side effects, and interactions using an appropriate psychosocial communication level
  • Communicates to patients and office coordinators follow-up appointments, ancillary and/or pre-operative testing and scheduling needed for patient
  • Coordinates ordering of tests/procedures with other clinical staff
  • Respond to patient questions and concerns as liaison between physician and patient
  • Reports all test results to the patient as directed by the physician
  • Additional duties as assigned
  • Complete prior authorizations for medications and coordinate medication refills

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • State of Michigan RN License
  • BLS certification
  • At least one year of working experience as an RN
  • OB/GYN experience preferred, but not required
